First Post: Second Life Comments

This was actually my second run at using Second Life. After seeing it mentioned on "The Office" which I follow, I tried to pull off what the characters on the show had. I ran into a lot more difficulty back then, just because of lack of tech-savvy skills and next to no experience with MMO systems.

This time around, I found using Second Life to still be challenging, but with help from both my professor and others in my class I was able to navigate around and customize my character both to look somewhat like me and to gain a couple of additions that are free from certain companies who advertise on Second Life (i.e. Dell, McGill University).

So far I have explored over 5 different locations and have been somewhat reluctant to interact with others. I think its because I'm still getting used to not being able to see (or at least have met in person) the individual or group I am talking to at any point in a virtual world like this.

I'm going to keep at it with Second Life and get more familiar with the way they have organized groups, money, locations and abilities for newcomers over the next month and will post again when I have become an avid Second Life user.
