Second Life Posting Week 5
This week we were instructed to build an object, modify it to be available for resale and determine a price. The powerpoint screenshots provided a lot of help in building the object for someone like me who had never done so before. The pictures show my progression through building my object to later be for resale.
As can be seen, I selected the default settings for most of the "general" selections; like having the ball say "(Avatar Name) Touched" when you left-click on it, having it available for resale at a price of $10 (or $L) which appeared to be the standard. I named it "Deuce's Ball" and made it so when I sold it it was a copy that was modifiable by the owner. I spent a slight amount of time trying to input some sort of media or function to the ball I made so that I could justifiably charge a higher price for the ball but was unsuccessful.
I also ran into difficulty locating a destination in which I could sell my object. I searched: "sell", "business", "commerce", and only found one island called 'ecstacy commerce' that when I travelled to was not actually what I was looking for. I also was unaware of how to proceed in communicating that my object was for sale to other avatars/users. I will continue to research this for future possible sales of objects.
